Google+ and Email Marketing
Heard of Google+ yet? Pronounced “Google Plus”. It’s Google’s new social media platform. I’m just starting to figure my way around the app, and I’m liking what I see so far considering its still in “testing”.
I wouldn’t say Google+ is trying to compete with Facebook or Twitter, but is trying to connect everything into one easy to use, easy to manage social media platform that offer unique and powerful search capabilities.
I’m not writing a review of Google+ or anything, all I’m saying is that it’s pretty cool.
How Will Email Marketing Effect Google+?
Or better yet how will Google+ effect email marketing?
- Blurring the line between social and email is getting foggier everyday and Google+ adds to this fuzzy picture
- Syncing your Google+ profile with your Facebook, Twitter, and other email accounts will help people become more centralized on the web instead of being spread all over the net. Ask yourself, How many website profiles do you have? How many sites have you registered for or submitted an email address on? If you’ve submitted to more than you can remember than you’re just like everyone else.
- Imagine what it would be like if you were to know one email address for one person, but all of a sudden know that that one person has multiple email addresses? Come on…you know that you have your “friends” email address and your “Marketing” email address and don’t forget your other email addresses…
All in all, Google+ is new and fresh. When the newness wares off and the dust settles we’ll see how email marketing and Google+ combine. It’ll be a fascinating ride.
